Lots of members are bunking up in hotels to save a little money for the trip.

2/11/12 Chapter Meeting/GOLDFIELD Ride

Great Meeting / Great Ride
In attendance were 22 members, 2 prospective members, and TriplEEE's sister Lori from Illinois.

Sugar Ant (Safety) had a "Safety Quiz" for us, good job Sugar Ant. Outhouse talked about some great upcoming rides/events: STAR B Q (March 31), TAME AMERICA (April 14th) , and STAR DAYS in Sparks Nevada (July 14-22).

Outhouse went over some details dealing with the STAR DAYS ride like "Leaving at 4am to head to Sparks", Bunking up with other members if possible to save on money. Attending Opening Ceremonies, Going on the Feed The Children Food Drop ride, attending the Star Days Banquet". We are also planning a Picnic at Lake Tahoe too! Its going to be a good time. Register on line. $57.00 per person will get you: a STAR DAYS T-Shirt, pin, and patch. It will also get you into all the events and the banquet.

Here we are with the Superstitions behind us. What a beautiful Arizona sight!

Chief and Jenn told us at the meeting about a family friend that was killed in a car accident, they are having a Car Wash on Sunday to help raise money for the family. We all decided that the chapter would match what we had for our 50/50, plus we passed around a donation can. We will be presenting the family with $115.00. We are happy we could help this family out in a time of need.

Wednesday's bike nite was held at Taco Tote in Mesa (Country Club & Southern). What a great turn out of 24 people!

Here we are after eating some good food at Taco Tote. We had a couple of visitors joining us for the evening. There was Phil, he is sitting between Eight-Sixty and Monster. And Tigger & Monster's neice, she is sitting next to Tigger. We hope they had a good time. btw..... Dan da Man & Frosty won the 50/50.

Quartzsite Arizona

Kick stands up at 7:30am from QT on Country Club near the 60. It was a 300 mile ride with 11 members, 2 friends and 11 bikes. It was pretty chilly in the morning but on the way home it warmed up to 75 -80 degrees. Quartzsite is quite interesting; it is somewhat windy and full of Snowbirds, RV's, Gems/stones/beads, banners & flags flapping everywhere and flea markets.

On the ride were members: NINJA, HOLLYWOOD, OTHER, DIABLO, CRASH, OUTHOUSE, #5, TRAPPER, ROOSTER, DAN THE MAN, FROSTY and friends; SLO-POKE (oh sorry, that's MR. SLO-POKE), and VANDAL.

It was a great day for a ride!

Once we got to Quartzsite we headed to get some breakfast (where else????). Here's Trapper and Ninja trying to warm Crash up. Once inside the cafe, all ceiling fans had to be turned off! The hot coffee got her a little bit warmed up.

What a great turn out for our first meeting of the year! This was our Charter signing meeting with a ride to Cave Creek.

We had 90% of our Chapter members in attendance and 3 visitors! What a great turn out. A big thanks goes to TriplEEE, Crash, and Eight-Sixty for reading the 2012 Charter before the signing began!

Everyone came prepared for the signing which included having current STAR membership cards. Thanks goes out to 0ther, Candyman, and TriplEEE for helping members with the signing.

Bike Nite for Dec. 14th

Tonites bike nite was just a small group, but it sure was fun TALKING ABOUT ALL OF YOU THAT DIDN'T SHOW UP! haha... NOT really. It was a pretty nice nite.

There were only 9 people at bike nite. CANDYMAN, NEMO, WOODCHUCKER, EIGHT-SIXTY, DIABLO, BRUCE, OUTHOUSE, and OTHER. Not pictured is Trapper, he had to leave early.


Here we all are .... We met some (imaginary) friends! They were really nice! Well heck, we had to find friends to drink all the drinks that Stephanie (waitress) had set up for us in the room.

We hope to see everyone at the next bike nite. We will have copies of the 2012 ride list.

Christmas party

This years 393 Christmas Party was held at the Cornwell's home (El Diablo & Nemo). After our chapter meeting some of went over to the home to help set up tables to get ready for a nite of fun!

Our gift exchange can get pretty funny too, why just look who ended up with an OUTHOUSE of there very own! Cowboy also received the 1st annual "Bag Of Coal" too! Well, till next year!

December Meeting

December meeting was held at Golden Corral. We voted in new people. Welcome to our newest 393 members!

Nemo presents the chapter with our "First Place" plaque from the Chandler Light Parade. We sure put on a good time. Its hard to believe that we, Chandler 393, can bring so much fun and happiness to a lot of people during the parade.

Had a great bike nite at Famous Sams! We were visited by Dennis Morse, Brian Bender and Steve Lashley from the Tucson Chapter. Also visiting us was Ali; Tiggers niece.

Here's the group minus Nemo and Diablo who had to leave bike nite early. Nemo had to get home and get some sleep cuz of that darned thing called "a job". Diablo had to get home to finish getting ready for a week of hunting!

Monster Garage

The Chandler Light Parade is 1 week away so it was MONSTER GARAGE at the Outhouse! Lots oil changes and lots of help! 0ther, Triplee and Diablo got the PVC pipes ready to hang the 393 banners that will be carried in the parade. We got some of the lights out and the batteries still work from last year! NOTE: if you still need battery operated strands of lights check Walgreen's and Big Lots. You can get the batteries at the 99 cent store.

Diablo did a lot to help then he had to head home to get ready for "Family Pictures".

It was great visiting with Hollywood & Ninja.

Bike Nite tonite was again at good old Famous Sam's! Nemo was late due to the fact she was attending the City of Chandler's meeting concerning the LIGHT PARADE. She brought back a lot of information that will be shared with all of us via email. The parade is Dec. 3rd, so make sure you mark your calendars for that date. There will be information sent to you too about the monster garage that will happen about a week before the parade to get your bikes ready for the slow ride down Arizona Ave! Its going to be a lot of fun! If you don't have battery operated Christmas lights ... get them as soon as you can. We are also trying to get some kind of matching Santa hats so that we look good!!! Banners will be pulled out to get them all lit up too! We can't wait for December 3rd! So look for your emails!!! NEMO: You are doing a great job at getting us all organized for the parade!

Its hard to believe its been 5 years since that day we gathered together in Downtown Chandler to sign the Charter to become STAR CHANDLER 393! Lots has happened since that day! People have come and gone but we are still a great group of family and friends!

This is on our newest shirt: Outhouse and Jenn did a great job! This picture was taken on the way to Winslow. If you didn't get a shirt and you want one, notify 0ther asap. An order is being placed very soon!

Here's Diablo saying a few words of "thanks" to Outhouse for being our President for the past 5 years. Diablo then presented Outhouse with a STAR ring from all of us. Many, many thanks to Gene. YOU ROCK, and all of "393 ROCKS ARIZONA"

We would like to thank everyone for 5 years of great times, great people, and great rides. We've had some fun on rides to Texas, California, Nevada, and all over Arizona. We never get tired of GOLDFIELD (great site for getting pictures next to Arizona's beautiful SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS) or ROOSEVELT (great pictures with the big blue bridge behind us), and who can resist a ride to PAYSON (especially since we get to stop and visit #5, 5 1/2, 6 and the rest of their great family), and then there's our annual ride to WINSLOW. There are so many other places in the great state of Arizona that we've done over and over again ..... cuz, who can get tired of seeing Arizona? Not 393! --- See you at the next 393 get together!!

If you are interested in seeing Hotel California on November 19th, please bring $15.00 for a ticket. Trapper will be collecting.

Chandler 393 will celebrating 5 years as a Chapter on Saturday, Nov. 5th.

393's 4th Annual Picnic

First off ........

Chandler 393 would like to thank everyone who attended our picnic! Our STAR family is what keeps us motivated in having this annual event! It's great getting together with the Arizona chapters ....... what great friendships we have in all of you! STAR Rocks!

What a day! Over 100 STAR members and family showed up to the picnic! Chapters from White Mountains, Globe, Phoenix, Mesa and of course Chandler were there in force. You could tell 393 by the yellow t shirts!

It started off "Arizona chilly" and a little windy in the morning, but the day turned out great. We found out we didn't have electricity so Cowboy came through with a generator! Spaghetti, Meatballs, and Lasagnas would not have been too good cold. Thank you Cowboy and Brenda!!

We had some great Raffle items, thanks to our chapter challenge from Diablo! Cowboy did an awesome job creating some great STAR coat racks, keyring and business card holders. Sugar Ant made some terrific bone handled knifes. Thank You to each and every member who donated an item(s), and Thank You to Diablo for the challenge. Because of all the chapters, we were able to raise $428.00 for STAR Family Foundation! We were all so happy to present that money to STAR! Congratulations to everyone who won a raffle item(s). We also had a $168.00 50/50 that our "One Armed Bandit" won, that would be #5.

Thank you to all of 393 for everything you did to make this day happen! Everyone pitched in when needed. It was pretty cool because clean up was easy EVERYONE helped, it was done in no time at all...... What a great way to end a great day!

NOTE: The pictures were taken by 0ther, she was busy most the day so she didn't get many pictures. Eight-Sixty and Jenn took some great pictures so as soon as possible they will be posted here on the blog.

Frosty & Dan DaMan's Moving day

Dan daMan & Frosty moved from about McDonald and Pima to 7th (Street / Ave ?) and Thunderbird. Lots of members showed up about 8am to start loading trucks. The move was all done at about 1:30pm. They had food and drinks ready for us when it was all over.

It was moving day for Dan da Man & Frosty! Lots of 393'ers showed up with trucks and vans to help out. Lots of commotion on their street on Saturday!

Everyone pitched in to get all the belongings loaded.

Bike Nite at Famous Sams. Great crowd! We almost didn't have enough room. This was our biggest bike nite in quite a while. It was great to see so many of our Chandler 393 members, new people and it was great seeing Hollywood and Ninja!

ROF and Maureen are our STAR family from Canada. Its always great seeing them! They head back home on Saturday. Keep in touch!!!

ROF was 0ther's honorary "50/50" helper. ROF you did good!

Matthew drew the '50/50 Ticket' making Maureen the 50/50 winner! "Yep ROF, you did real good!" :-)

As always everyone is enjoying good food and good conversation with some good friends!

Annual Ride to WINSLOW Sept. 24 & 25

Here's about half that joined us in Winslow. This is the 9/11 monument where we always gather before heading back to the valley. These structures / beams are from the Twin Towers and the flag that flies over them is a flag that has flown over the Pentagon.

Our ride started out in Chandler, meeting quite a few riders at a QT. Several riders joined us along the way to Payson. Here we are at Payson's Maverick gas station. 5 1/2, 6, Kelly and kids came to see us off. It's always great to see them!

Meeting & Greeting with friends some of haven't seen in a while. Members from Globe and from Thunder Mfg. came along for the ride too!

Everyone's bikes are gassed up and ready to go!

Turtle and 5 1/2 are "Birthday Sisters"!!! They share their birth date of September 25th.

So we had a great ride up to Winslow then stopped in at Falcons Restaurant for lunch. Here's Doughboy and Crash selling 50/50 tickets to our Globe friends. By the way, one of the members from Globe won the 50/50. Congrats!!!

After a great lunch we all sang "Happy Birthday" and had a birthday cake for #5 (Sept. 21st) and Turtle.

Tumbler and Sugar Ant rode to Winslow with us, but had to head back to the Valley after lunch.

We all stood in line patiently to get our rooms at the hotel.

Saturday's meeting was held at Golden Corral in Mesa. It was a good meeting with good attendance. Lots of great discussions.

There were 3 new prospective members that needed to be voted on, so after the meeting and before the 50/50 drawing we began the voting.

Kickstands up at 6:30am (we most likely meet up with riders as we go)

We will eat breakfast @ TINY'S in Payson.

After Tiny's we will head up to Cowboy and Brenda's cabin for a BBQ and relaxation.

At few members will stop by Walmart to pick up bbq'ing items then head on to the cabin.

BBQ items will be Hamburgers and Hot dogs with all the fixings, couple of salads, and fruit. We will have lots of cold bottled water. $5.00 per person.

What a Bike Nite!!! We had a pretty nice sized crowd. Plus we had a great surprise visit from our friends Maureen & ROF. For those of you who don't them they are from Canada and they also belong to STAR. We are so happy to have them back for a few weeks! They are pictured here above Crash and Outhouse.

Can't believe how hard it is to get this big group organized for a picture! Its a lot of fun, right? Come on you guys, you know you love it!!! And you know it would not be a 393 get together without 0ther pulling out her camera!!!!

50/50 went to ROF and Maureen! Way to go! And we had some cool Canadian treats; MOOSE DROPPINGS and BEAVER DROPPINGS (muffin mixes) ..... Winners were Cowboy & Brenda and Crash & Outhouse.

It's sure nice to have our friends back!!!

We also had a birthday! Dan Da'Man will be celebrating his 29th Birthday on Sunday. Frosty brought some very tasty red velvet cupcakes to help celebrate. (Watch out cupcake wars ... we have a contender!)

Last but certainly not least ... a funny ending to a great nite! NEMO got a PONY RIDE and its not even WINSLOW time!!

Update on our Annual All Star Picnic

The date for the picnic is OCT. 8th. So please everyone mark your calendars!
We have the Ramada reserved at Falcon Field (We will be having our Chapter meeting there before the picnic starts).
This years theme is "Italian". Outhouse hasn't reveled our "4th Annual All Star Picnic" T-Shirt. We are all anxiously waiting!!!!!
LOS will having a Picnic meeting Friday, Aug. 19th @ Denny's 6pm. This is opened up to all chapter members, so guys if you want to help, we will see you there!

We met @ QT, kickstands were up at 6am on Saturday, Aug. 13th. Very nice ride to Gila Bend then back to Mesa for our Chapter meeting. Those on the ride were: Dan Da'Man, #5, 0ther, Diablo, Outhouse, Nemo, Crash, and Cowboy.

STAR Scholarship

We, in STAR Touring & Riding Chandler Chapter 393 are very proud of Savannah (Banana) Galan for being the recipient of the first ever scholarship from STAR Touring and Riding. Savannah will be attending Chandler/Gilbert Community College, starting this month.

Presenting Savannah her scholarship is Alan and Ginger. For those that don't know, Savannah is the daughter of Gene & Desiree Galan, members of our Chandler Chapter 393. You may know them better as, "Outhouse" (our President) and "Crash" (our Secretary). Congratulations to Savannah!!! Congrats to the very proud parents, too!!!

It was a great bike nite at the 5 & Diner (101 & Indian Bend Road). Lots of people, lots of fun!

Thanks to SuziQ for finding this place to meet for our bike nite. The menu was pretty good and they had some tasty "Blue Plate Specials".

Birthday boy 'da Judge'!!! We celebrated with a German Chocolate cake! Happy Birthday to Judge!!!

We had 18 people join us at bike nite. Pretty nice size crowd.

We had to be seated a 3 back to back booths, but it was still fun and we still got to visit!

Don't know what was so darn funny, but I'm sure it was a good one!

Ok 393, here's the newest craze for us. A new type of sparkly name bracelets. $7.00 at the new 'In Door Swap Mart" in Chandler. Cool!!!

Its always fun at our bike nites ..... Just sitting back listening to everyone is a great time too!

BIKE NITE July 27th

Pretty cool bike nite. We were missing a few members, but it was still a great nite! Five people had on Chapter shirts and all three 'Chandler 393 All STAR annual picnic' shirts were represented! Crash has the 2008's "Run To The Pines", Sugar Ant has the 2009's "Fiesta", and Diablo has 2010's "Luau". Boy the memories of each of these are great! It should be interesting to see what 0uthouse has in store for all of us for our 4th annual 2011's All STAR "Italy theme" picnic (do they have outhouse's in Italy? hahaha)

We only took up one table at Sam's. Lots of laughter and conversations were going on. Oh and by the way "Jim" won the 50/50 again (second time in a row). Nemo has competition!!

On Saturday, July 16th quite a few 393'ers headed up to Strawberry to help Cowboy and Brenda with some work around their cabin. It's really cool that those who could make it to help out did!

The caravan started out in Chandler, with cars and bikes being added as we made it up to Payson. Once in Payson we stopped at TINY'S for breakfast!

ROOSEVELT LOOP RIDE: What a great 200 mile ride by the Superstition Mountains up thru Superior and around Roosevelt Lake past the big blue bridge then back to the Valley!! We had 16 people on the ride (10 Bikes). Members on the ride were: # 5, Brenda, Candyman, Cowboy, Crash, Judge, 0ther, Outhouse, SuziQ, Chief, Jenn, and Lumpy. Guest riders: Chuck, Harley, Jared, and Pops!

We stopped just passed the blue bridge for this picture.

This truck was nice enough to pull over a bit for all of us to get past him. (notice the people in the back of the boat? Isn't it illegal to ride in the back of a boat being towed?)

Back in Mesa for a Chapter meeting at Golden Corral after the ride. Everyone who went on the ride was at the meeting, also at the meeting were: Sugar Ant, Tripleee, Banana, Beth, Deimitri, MuuShuu, Kim & 1/2 along with their 3 little ones.

Relaxing after a good meal before the meeting starts. Minutes from the meeting will be sent out on email very soon.

July 6th Bike Nite

WOW... we had a pretty big turn out for bike nite tonite! We didn't have our normal room since it was "Old Car Club" meeting nite, so they had a big table ready for us in front. It was great seeing everyone!

Here's the group with a some visiting people: Chuck, Bruce, Kristy (Evil), Dylan, Amanda (CookieDough), and Beth.

As always it was good food and conversations!

The social saying was "2006", Chief won the $10.00 gas card! Keep checking the SOCIAL box on the side bar... You never know when it will change!

Meet at QT on Country Club & Guadalupe. Kickstands up at 6:30am. Be sure to bring SUNSCREEN. The chase car will have plenty of water.

1st stop: GLOBE

2nd stop: PUNKIN CENTER

3rd stop: Golden Corral for our Chapter Meeting. The chapter meeting should be very informative so be sure to attend.

NOTE: If anyone is planning to ride with 0ther in the chase car please call her asap! Meeting place for riding in chase car will be 6:15am at Golden Corral.

Ride to Payson & Winslow ... June 25th

6:30am Kickstands up at Warner & Arizona Ave's QT. Diablo joined us at Country Club & McDowell, Dan DaMan, SuziQ, Penguin, and Doughboy joined up with us at Beeline past Fountain Hills. Total bikes to Payson: 11 with 10 members and 3 visiting riders. #5 joined us for breakfast at Tiny's in Payson. #5 couldn't go on the ride since he is fighting off the ending of bronchitis. After a pretty tasty meal at Tiny's we headed towards Winslow. Penguin and Doughboy had some previous engagements so they headed back to the valley. Once we got to Winslow we checked out some of the shops, it was pretty sad to see Diane's Roadworks store (It was the original "Standin' On A Corner" store) empty. A few of us went to DQ for an Ice Cream while others walked down the street to check out a few stores. We met some new shop owners on the next CORNER down in Winslow, very nice friendly people. We also secured rooms for our September Winslow ride.

After Winslow we headed back to Payson, we stopped to see #5, 5 1/2, 6, and Kelly. We were met with great hospitality! They had Chipolte chicken, homemade salsa and all the fixings! And we had some great pizza too!! We were able to get rested and re hydrated before heading back to Chandler.

It was so nice just relaxing with great friends along with great hosts!

Jim (#5), Jody (5 1/2), Travis (6), Kelly and Kids.....Thank You so much for a great visit. We appreciate it more than you know!!!
